The company is awarded the Brandenburg Zukunftspreis because it has developed a patented fully automatic luggage loading unit for flight luggage. The functionality of this product, first of its kind worldwide, has been validated.
The equipment developed by Unitechnik packages passenger luggage of any shape and size in a fully automated process. Suitcases, overnight bags and rucksacks are loaded in an optimised way into standardised airline containers. Unitechnik presented this innovation at the Internationale Luft- und Raumfahrtsmesse Berlin (ILA) international aviation and space exhibition, and on the occasion of the Expo world exhibition in Shanghai, impressing the expert community.
Unitechnik Automatisierungs GmbH has grown into a global player with a number of major international projects. Founded in 1991, the company initially worked mainly for German customers. Demand soon spread across Europe and the world.
Unitechnik staff travel the five continents to install advanced equipment labelled ‘Made in Brandenburg’.
Worldwide business does not cause this company to lose sight of its home region: Managing Director Eckhard Wilberg is an ambassador for the Frankfurt (Oder) - Eisenhüttenstadt Regionaler Wachstumskern regional development initiative. Unitechnik is a member of the East Brandenburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry committee for small business policies and infrastructure, and of the metal working competence network.
The company supports numerous cultural and sports clubs, and sponsors the Frankfurter HC ladies’ handball team.
